THE 2020 CHRISTmas Star

“Here’s the reward I have for every conqueror, everyone who keeps at it, refusing to give up: You’ll rule the nations, your Shepherd-King rule as firm as an iron staff, their resistance fragile as clay pots. This was the gift my Father gave me; I pass it along to you—and with it, the Morning Star! Are your ears awake? Listen. Listen to the Wind Words, the Spirit blowing through the churches.”
Revelation‬ ‭2:26-29‬ ‭MSG‬‬

There’s been a lot of buzz about the “Christmas star” appearing in the evening sky Monday, December 21, 2020 when Jupiter and Saturn will be in very close conjunction. Yes, it will be exciting to see. Especially because the Lord loves to use His creation to point to a greater Truth! Lately, I’ve been swimming in a sea of stars! Holy Spirit has been placing them everywhere!

But this 2020 “Christmas star” is only meant to point you to THE Bright and Morning Star; Jesus Himself (Revelation 22:16)!
Now is the time to not lose heart, and do not fall into despair, but listen to the true prophets and guard your heart with FAITH!

Hanukkah, History and Holy Spirit

“And the Light shines on in the darkness, for the darkness has never overpowered it [put it out or absorbed it or appropriated it, and is unreceptive to it].”
‭‭John‬ ‭1:5‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

“Who is like You, O Lord, among the gods? Who is like You, glorious in holiness, awesome in splendor, doing wonders?”‭‭ Exodus‬ ‭15:11‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

The above scripture was also the motto of Judah, son of Mattatias, the leader of the Maccabees. When his father died of an illness, Judah took the lead in gathering a small band of Jewish brothers to rise up in courage and revolt against their evil Greek Assyrian oppressors during the time of Alexander the Great.

A 2020 Thanksgiving Letter

“So, go ahead—let everyone know it! Tell the world how he broke through and delivered you from the power of darkness and has gathered us together from all over the world. He has set us free to be his very own! Let everyone give all their praise and thanks to the Lord! Here’s why—he’s better than anyone could ever imagine. Yes, he’s always loving and kind, and his faithful love never ends.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭107:1-3‬ ‭TPT‬‬

Jesus, Your Feast of Sukkot

“Go your way, eat the fat, drink the sweet drink, and send portions to him for whom nothing is prepared; for this day is holy to our Lord. And be not grieved and depressed, for the joy OF the Lord is your strength and stronghold.” Nehemiah‬ ‭8:10‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

This evening begins the Jewish Festival of Sukkot or Feast of Tabernacles. Five days after the solemn holiday Yom Kippur (which points to Jesus as our perfect atoning Sacrifice, John 5:39), this joyous festival is all about rejoicing and celebrating!

A sukkah is a booth (hut) or temporary shelter made out of branches from many types of beautiful leafy trees (olive, palm…) that the Israelites were instructed to make and dwell in for seven days commemorating their time in the wilderness (after the exodus from Egypt) in which God faithfully provided for them.

Yom Kippur

“Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption.”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭9:12‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

This evening marks the start of Yom Kippur, the “Day of Atonement,” the holiest day of the year for the Jews. In the Old Testament, it was the only day the high priest could enter into the inner sanctuary of the tabernacle (or Temple), the Holy of Holies. There, he would sprinkle the blood of an animal on the mercy seat of the ark of the covenant to atone for the sins of himself and the people of Israel.

Think On These…

“For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.” Proverbs 23:7 NKJV

What’s going on in your heart has a direct effect on what’s going on in your mind and ultimately what you are experiencing in life. That’s why it’s so important to believe right. Proverbs 4:23 says to guard your heart above all else because it affects all that you are, even the course of your life. And the key to doing that is found in the previous verses that remind us to hear, see and keep in the midst of our heart and mind the Word of God.

Arise! Shine! The Lord Is Your Light!

“THE Lord is my Light and my Salvation–whom shall I fear or dread? The Lord is the Refuge and Stronghold of my life–of whom shall I be afraid?”
‭‭Psalm‬ ‭27:1‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

“ARISE [from the depression and prostration in which circumstances have kept you–rise to a new life]! Shine (be radiant with the glory of the Lord), for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you!”‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭60:1‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

The moon has no light of its own, but reflects the light of the sun. So we have no light of our own, but reflect The Light of the Son as we simply rest and abide in His love.
