A Kairos Season: The Time Of Transformation Through Trust

“I’ll pour robust well-being into her like a river…” Isaiah 66:12 msg

You’ve heard the expression, “Timing is everything.”  Well, I believe we are in an unprecedented kairos time or season. In the Bible, there are two Greek words to define “time.” One is chronos (chronological time as in hours, days, months), the other is kairos. Kairos basically means an appointed and opportune moment or due season. It is “God’s appointed time”; a sacred, favorable time.

Now usually when we speak of a kairos season in the church, it’s so easy to fall into the overly spiritual and even religious idea that it means we are to get busy doing something that the Lord is releasing an anointing for. But this current kairos moment is not about us getting busy.

It’s about us surrendering, letting go and entering into His rest so He can work. It is all about us being awakened in our hearts to come back to our first love which is His love for us, not ours for Him. This happens when we let go of our striving and personal agendas. This happens when we submit to His Spirit to be transformed from the inside out by trusting Him more and trying less.

In other words, He’s still trying to get your attention. Which may be why you’ve been feeling the opposition of distraction lately; trying to figure everything out while you add to your schedule now that the outside world is opening back up.

I’ve seen it since the beginning of May. With the quarantine coming to an end and society making way for what looks like the old norm, the need to “get moving” again is on the rise. But Jesus is never in a hurry. However, He is always on the move!

We are in a hurry to get back to what’s comfortable, what we depend on, what’s familiar. We are in a hurry to figure things out: “Will I still have my job on the other side of this?” “What’s coming next?” “What will happen when my kids go back to school?” “Will we still get quality family-time?”

Here’s a question you can ask yourself: “Am I willing to trust Jesus when I can’t see my norm, when nothing feels comfortable, when I don’t know the outcome, when I don’t know what’s coming next, when I don’t understand?”

You see, we want all these “things” to depend on. We want stuff, schedules or people to comfort us. We want to manipulate time to fit into our plans and purposes. But we live and move and have our very being in The Lord of time, space and certainty.

You may not know what your future holds, but you live in Perfect Love Himself who holds you, your timing and your destiny in His hands. Jesus holds all things together even when you feel you and your world are falling apart.

When you come to the end of yourself, you will find yourself face to face with your Faithful Father because everything that is real, secure, certain and fruitful is found in the One who cried out, “It Is Finished!”

Beloved, because you are forgiven, made perfect in His eyes (despite your inward thoughts and outward behavior), and co-heirs with Christ, the promise of life, health, wholeness and abundance is already signed, sealed, and delivered to you! It’s all yours because He is yours (and you are His one and only desire).

In this sacred, favorable season, it’s time to surrender everything (all your breaking, addictions, every ounce of pain, dark secrets, disappointments, bitterness, confusion, careers, desires, relationships, children, worries, fear and the need to know, understand, figure out or control).

It’s time to abide in Him. Relax and be His branch. Jesus, your True Vine, wants you to settle down and make yourself at home in His love; the same love Abba Father has for Him. He’s saying, “When you are joined with Me and I with you, our relationship intimate and organic, your harvest is sure to be abundant.” (John 15:5 msg)

As Corrie Ten Boom would say, “Don’t wrestle, just nestle.”

Begin by turning away from all that distracts. Then stand still in complete confidence in and dependence on Jesus only and you will see the Salvation of the Lord surge in.

Pentecost is on the horizon (May 31). The harvest happens in the heart first then affects all that surrounds you. The Lord said to me recently, “There is going to be a flood-tide of My peace, love and joy extended to you in your letting go.” He reminded me of this verse He gave me at the beginning of the year when He told me to walk in His Peace, unhurried, one step at a time:

“I will extend peace (Shalom) to her like a river, and the glory (wealth) of the nations like an overflowing stream…” Isaiah 66:12 AMPC

Beloved, there is about to be a transfer. You give Him your self-efforts, struggles and stress, and He will unleash the waters of refreshing, reviving and restoration in every area of your tired, weary, wounded heart and world. He’s bringing everything full circle, healing deep roots, by leading them all back to the fertile soil of His finished work on the cross.

Fix your feet (anchor your heart) on the unshakable ground of The Rock of Ages as you fall at His. It’s time to freely receive and enjoy the fruits of HIS labor (not yours) as you labor diligently to enter into HIS rest by simply believing.

“Jesus told them, ‘This is the only work God wants from you: Believe in the One He has sent.’” John 6:29 NLT

Don’t look to the world, news, predictions or statistics. They will only cause you to shift, shake and sway. But look unto your Savior, your Source, and listen to His Spirit as He leads you up and into your own personal Upper Room experience.

There are things taking place in the world that He is allowing to happen. You have seen it and you will continue to see it. But when it looks like there are minuses all around you, He’s getting ready to abundantly add to your life with much multiplication! First and foremost it will be so that you will know Him more (and your true identity in Him) and get back to the simple Gospel.

Remember, your Provider and Protector IS your Surplus. Your Father knows what you need little flock. Don’t be afraid of what’s next. He’s taking you to a new place of trusting in His “new norm” which is always an adventure of intimacy, mystery and miracles.

Don’t hold on. Just Let go….and get ready for a super-abounding Grace flow.

Resting In His Love,

Annalee Reyes
