The Battle Is The Lord’s

“The Lord says this to you: Be not afraid or dismayed at this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God’s.”
‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭20:15‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

No matter what you are up against…whether it be an emotional, spiritual or physical enemy. Whether it’s a relationship, your health, finances or maybe there’s just a battle going on in your mind…

Stand boldly in your Father’s presence, cry out to Him in your distress and hear your Savior say to you, “My beloved, do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but Mine. Where I AM, there you are. So see it as a finished work and Rest!”

This is what happened to King Jehoshaphat  (One of the most prosperous kings of Judah) in 2 Chronicles chapter 20, when he was faced with a mighty force of enemies. He didn’t try to figure it all out and fight the enemy in his own strength.

Nope…He went straight to the Lord and asked Him to take care of it, admitting to Him, “We have no power to face this vast army that is attacking us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are upon YOU!” (Vs. 12)

And the Lord told him that he would not have to fight this battle but simply take up his position, stand firm and SEE the Salvation (Yeshua=Jesus) of the Lord!

Jehoshaphat in turn responded in simple trust and told his people to believe firmly in their God! Then he appointed men to praise the Lord, thanking Him for His ‘checed’ (grace, undeserved favor, goodness, kindness and faithfulness that endures forever) before the battle was over.

The result? As soon as they started praising and thanking Him, the Lord sent ambushes against their enemies! He completely defeated them. And afterward, Jehoshaphat’s kingdom was at PEACE. For his God had given him REST on every side!

Today, Jesus wants us to take that same position. Because he died as you, buried your sins, punishment and curses in the grave, raised you righteous in Him and made you sit down together with Him, your battle has already been won.

It may not seem so in the natural, but God wants you to behold Jesus and see your victory in the unseen realm (2 Corinthians 4:18), which is called faith.

He wants you to hold your peace and remain at rest while He fights for you now. He says to you, “Sit down and relax. Trust in Me and thank Me that it’s already finished. I will make your enemies your footstool (Psalm 110:1) and your blessings superabound.

He loves you so much that He gave Himself up for you. He also loves what you love more than you love it. He knows your heart; every wound, every desire. His will is always to heal you, prosper you and free you…freely.

So today, chose to cast every care on Him, no matter the size of your concern. If it matters to you, it matters to Him. Release the weight of your worry and begin to worship. Trust in all He’s already done for you and rest in His furious love for you.

Then you will see the manifestation of His goodness in every area of your life!

“[What, what would have become of me] had I not believed that I would see the Lord’s goodness in the land of the living!”‭‭Psalm‬ ‭27:13‬ ‭AMPC‬‬
