Thank you Father for giving up Your Son for me this day more than 2,000 years ago. What You must have suffered watching Him suffer.
Thank you Father, for You planned for Him to be slain before You laid the world’s foundation.
You knew what man would choose and still You chose us because you are Divine Love.
Thank you Father that it pleased You to crush Him for me (Isaiah 53:10 Selah). This is How much You love me. It was Your will for His body to be broken so I could be made whole.
Thank you Father. You’re a good good Father. Profound Goodness.
Thank you Jesus for the agony and torment you bore in Your Spirit just knowing what You were about to suffer for me, as your sweat turned to blood (Luke 22:44) redeeming me from the curse.
Thank you Jesus for saying ‘yes’ to Father’s will because I was Your Passion and the joy set before You. For You’d rather die and go through hell than be without me. What Love is this?
Thank you Suffering Servant for the severe beating you endured absorbing my punishment into Your own body, carrying my guilt, sicknesses, diseases and pain to give me peace and health.
Thank you my Rescuer for laying down Your life, nailing Yourself to the cross taking me with You as You crucified my old nature to make me new and one with You.
Oh Royal One Who left His throne to wear my crown of thorns so I could have a sound mind crowned with Your glory and honor (Psalm 8:5).
Beautiful Man of Sorrows, Lamb of God, You were condemned in my place, rejected and tried so I would be justified, accepted and set free.
You were marred beyond recognition; an object of horror, so I would be known as the object of Your affection; made holy and wholly Your flawless beloved.
Oh Light of the world, thank you for becoming darkness itself, so I could forever be a child of Light (a child of the Day), and become the recipient of Your endless glorious grace.
Thank you Living Water for drinking the dregs of my sin, so I could forever drink of You and thirst no more.
Thank you Lord of Lords for giving up Your Spirit with power so I could gain the gift of Your Holy Spirit with praise.
My Mighty Redeemer, thank you for hanging bare so I could be clothed with Your righteousness.
Oh King of Kings, Salvation Himself, Defeater of my death, Victor of all, You are my Rest.
THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
You’re a perfect perfect Savior; Lover of my soul. Perfect Love.
It’s a Good Friday indeed, Father, because IT IS FINISHED.
Loving You, Lord, because You first loved me…and resting in Your Love always,
Annalee Reyes
