JesusOnly

It’s so easy in our suffering to focus on being free from it or to obtain what we want. It’s also so easy, in these connected times, to see what’s going on in other’s lives and get focused on getting more or doing more.

But today, I’m going to lovingly remind you to NOT focus on the “stuff.” Don’t get hung up on the “things” you desire. Don’t fixate on the healing, provision or blessing you need. But instead, focus on the One, the Person; Jesus Himself. 

He IS your life and everything that pertains to it. To increasingly know Him deeper is eternal life (John 17:3, Philippians 3:8-10).

To be intimate with Him and enjoy His Presence is your purpose. Your Resurrected Reality is to rest in His undying love for you because Love Himself died for you; to make you His own and be for you all you could never be for yourself. 

You may think you need the healing. You don’t. You need the Healer. You may think you need that financial increase. You don’t. You need the Provider. You may think you need your wayward child to come home. You don’t. You need your Shepherd, who carries you, while He Himself finds and brings home the lost. You may think you need that one relationship to be perfect. You don’t. You need the Lover of your soul, your Father, your Heavenly Husband who never leaves nor forsakes you, accepts you perfectly and meets and loves you where you are.

Sickness is NOT from the Lord. Lack is NOT from the Lord. Heartbreak is NOT from the Lord. Chaos is NOT from the Lord. But He will use the frustrations, hurts, storms and emptiness of our lives to bring us back to Him. Just Jesus. Jesus only.

Beloved, your peace, health and answer to your problem is not found in a circumstantial change or material blessing. It’s found in Jesus alone. 

He is all you need because He Himself is all those things and more. And because of the cross, He is all yours. 

When you believe He is chasing after you, all you have to do is turn around-by changing your mind about who He is-and you’ll run smack dab into His furious love and grace.

When you trust His blood has wiped your slate clean and His righteousness has made you new, Jesus, will manifest as all those things you need and hope for.

So, _____, _____ (place you’re name in those blanks), don’t be anxious and troubled about many things. Just choose the one thing: Jesus. Let Him serve you by giving Himself to you. And everything else will be added (Luke 10:41-42, Matthew 6:33).
