Every gift we are thankful for today was gifted because of THE GIFT, Jesus. All our thankfulness can only be found in Him where we live and move and have our being (Acts 17:28).
Every good and perfect free gift that flows to you from our Father of love and lights, is only because THE GIFT, Jesus, endured our suffering and bore our cross; absorbing our place of sin, receiving our condemnation and becoming our curse.
All so we could receive freely this lavish love in the form of His endless grace (unearned, unmerited favor) wrapped up in His irreversible righteousness. All so we, in this new identity, could freely enjoy an uninterrupted intimate relationship with our Daddy God!
To give thanks, to be grateful is the Greek word Eucharisteo. It’s very root is the word GRACE. And it’s source is found in the body and blood of Christ; communion (Luke 22:19).
Beloved, all you have, all you long for and all He has in store for you, can only be undeservedly given because God did not spare His own Son but gave Him up for you (Romans 8:32).
The more you believe in this wildly unconditional love and acceptance; the more you believe you have been cleansed and made flawless in His eyes – that He likes you a lot, He truly knows you, simply loves to be with you and favors you – the more you will experience His peace and His abundant outpouring of resurrection life.
Thankfully, the pilgrims believed. Breaking away from their religious bondage, trusting in the God of goodness, they pursued their promise land, pioneering into the unknown for our freedom!
So today, as you dig into all the yummy food and grab hold of loved ones, “I’m asking Him to strengthen you by His Spirit—that Christ will live in you as you open the door and let Him in…to be able to take in the extravagant dimensions of Christ’s love. Reach out and experience the breadth! Test its length! Plumb the depths! Rise to the heights!” It’s never ending (Ephesians 3:19)!
Then simply give eucharisteo, relax, find joy in the present moment and freely take from His banqueting table where His banner over you is love (S of S 2:4).
For it truly is finished!
Blessings upon blessings to you and yours this Thanksgiving!
Resting In His Love,
Annalee Reyes
