And you shall eat it thus: [as fully prepared for a journey] your loins girded, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and you shall eat it in haste. It is the Lord’s Passover.”
Exodus 12:11 AMPC
This evening begins the Feast of Passover; otherwise known as the season of freedom! Passover, which always takes place on the 14th day of Nisan, the first month of the Hebrew calendar, is the beginning of God’s New Year, therefore, is relevant for the believer today.
Every act played out in the preparation for Israel’s exodus from their slavery in Egypt points to Christ, our Pesach, the True Passover Lamb. Every item in the Passover Seder points to His Passion.
Before the final plague (the death of every Egyptian firstborn, including that of their livestock), the Israelites were instructed to take a lamb without blemish for each household, sacrifice it and partake of it. The blood of the lamb was to be put on the top and sides of their doors as a sign that GOD would see the blood and preserve (or “pass” over) them for His promised land.
The sides of the doorway and the lintel make a “tav,” the final (or 22nd – note today is April 22nd) letter in the Hebrew alphabet. The tav is the sign of the covenant and is actually a picture of a cross. There were also two sticks that were to be placed in the shape of a cross (tav) inside the body cavity of the Passover lamb to keep it open as it was roasted.
The lamb was to be roasted whole without breaking a bone. What a beautiful picture of our Lord Jesus, the spotless Lamb of God, who on the cross, took away the sins of the world. He is the Final Sacrifice whose blood atoned for our sins and set us free.
He was slaughtered without one bone being broken. He was “roasted,” taking the fiery judgement of God’s wrath upon Himself so we could be judged INNOCENT in our Father’s eyes.
The Israelites took their lamb with bitter herbs because Jesus bore our bitter curse. They took it with unleavened bread because Jesus, the sinless Bread of Life had no religion in Him. So now we can feast on His finished work and drink of His love in sweet fellowship with Him under grace as we partake of our own covenant “meal” through Communion.
As hundreds of thousands partook of their redemption, they were told to do so with anticipation; their cloaks tucked in their belts, sandals on their feet and staffs in their hands. They were to eat it in haste…acting in faith foreseeing their freedom!
Many aren’t aware that it was not just the Israelites (descendants from Abraham, Isaac and Jacob), but the multitude included Egyptians and people from other nations living in Egypt (in other words, gentiles), who chose to join themselves to God’s people. This is another picture of both Jews and gentiles becoming one new man in Christ.
The Lord even loaded them up with silver and gold from their Egyptian neighbors (the world system), an abundance of provision (transfer of wealth from the kingdom of darkness to the Kingdom of Light). And the Word says when they left in LIBERTY, there was not one feeble or weak among them (from infants to the elderly, Psalm 105:37)! This is your promise, your story, your reality in Christ now!
When you look to the cross and see Jesus bearing your sins, guilt, punishment, sicknesses and curses, you can get ready to experience your freedom from any and every bondage. You can confidently expect His abundant healing, health, provision and favor for every need and desire, knowing all debt has been over-paid by His blood and you were raised righteous; brought out of death’s hold and into His heart as an heir of His utter goodness.
In the same way, America is getting ready to experience deliverance and freedom from Her evil oppressors. The Lord’s love for and covenant with our nation is sealed by His blood. The church is alive, awake and taking her Lamb and Kingdom authority. God sees the blood and America (Israel’s “sister”) shall be saved from socialistic slavery, satanic strongholds and communistic control.
This very significant Passover will be marked with signs of His saving power as we look forward to a historical rescue and reformation, even in the midst of gross darkness. Arise, shine and get ready to experience His greater glory, “…for Christ, our Passover Lamb has been sacrificed.” 1 Corinthians 5:7 AMPC
Resting In His Love,

Jesus has been pursuing you relentlessly all your life. If you’ve never received Jesus Christ as your forgiveness, your Lord and your Savior, you can pray this simple prayer from your heart and become born again, a brand new creation and child of Daddy God, your loving Father:
“Heavenly Father, Thank you for sending your Son for me. I believe He came to earth to be born in the flesh to die my death on the cross. I believe His blood washed my sins away and completely cleansed me. I believe He redeemed me from every curse by becoming my curse and was raised from the dead because I was declared justified and righteous. Jesus, come into my heart and be my Lord and Savior. I am now fully forgiven! I am a child of God, blessed, favored and incomprehensibly loved. In Jesus Name. Amen!”
