Let Him Serve You

I hear the Lord calling, “Weary one, come!”

Come to your Servant King. Come and get away with Him. Sit at His feet and let Him release His life-giving words to you. Let His calm fall on you. Let His healing power infuse you from within.

Jesus doesn’t need you to run at break-neck speed trying to please Him or get it all done. If your plate is too full with your worries and works, you won’t be able to freely receive the portion of His pleasure He has dished up for you.

Beloved, He came to give to you. Yes, it’s true, He came to serve you. Religion will make you believe the opposite.

“That is what the Son of Man has done: He came to serve, not to be served—and then to give away His life in exchange for many who are held hostage.” Mark‬ ‭10:45‬ ‭MSG‬

In order to experience His resurrection life in your soul and in your situation (and have it flow out of you onto others), you need to stop burning the candle at both ends and instead slow down enough to be still in His presence so He can pour the oil back in, reigniting the flame of HIS LOVE FOR YOU!

Remember Martha?… she loved the Lord and He loved her. But she had Jesus -God Himself, the Person of Grace- in her presence yearning to give to her. And instead of simply being with Him and taking from Him, she was stressed out trying to give to Him. As a result, she was burned-out and blamed both Him and her sister for not caring.

But Mary, her sister, was determined to defy the religious rules (women were not allowed to learn from the rabbis in that time), and in turn CHOSE the One thing (the Only thing) that would change her life. She consented to allow the Source of All Life to supply her with revelation. Martha was trying to feed Jesus. Jesus was wanting to feed her. Mary feasted on the Main Course and was full of His peace and rest! And Jesus was nourished by her need of Him (John 4:32).

If you are feeling over-occupied; overwhelmed because of all the distractions or demands…stop! Just stop and let fall the busyness and burdens. Then get back to the basics by letting yourself fall into the loving arms of your Servant King who suffered incomprehensibly to dispense Shalom upon Shalom to you.

If you feel like a bruised reed,

Your Father knows what you need.

Yes, He wants you to succeed.

But first you must feed.

Then allow Him to lead.

He will supply you indeed…

Your expectations He’ll exceed!

Now let this Word be decreed,

And your trust He will heed!

Resting in His love,
