2023: Jesus My LIGHT

In 2023 the LIGHT of Jesus’s face is going to displace all disgrace, dispelling every trace of what’s kept you from His grace.

Jesus doesn’t give light. HE IS LIGHT! The very first Word God spoke in Genesis 1:3, was “Light.” In your English translations, you read “Let there be light.” But He was not speaking about the sun, moon or stars as they weren’t created until the fourth day. 

God was declaring Jesus as the Light of His presence to fill the universe when He said in Hebrew, “Light be.” The Hebrew words actually say, “Yah (God) Owr (Light).” And the pleasing Light of the face of God (Jesus) dispelled and separated the darkness.

What was hidden in the Old Testament is made known in the New. In the first chapter of the gospel of John, Holy Spirit reveals Jesus as The Word who IS the beginning, was always with God, yet fully God and by whom all things were made and through whom all things came into existence.

In Him, the fountain and source of all life exists. And this ZOE life (the absolute fullness, vitality, blessedness, vigor and power belonging to God) was the LIGHT for all humanity! (Verses 4,5). 

Your experience of the Light of His countenance comes from the revelation of what the ‘Light of the World’ finished for you in His death, burial and resurrection. Because He destroyed every one of your sins and curses in His own body, He now makes your forgiveness, wholeness and innocence radiate in the Light of His risen glory!

“He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light, And your justice as the noonday.” Psalms‬ ‭37:6‬ 

Child of God, His Light exposes all that is right with you (all His blood accomplished) despite what you “think” or “feel” is wrong with you. His Light reveals how righteous, spotless and favored you are in Him regardless of your behavior, mistakes or falling short.

Even when you are struggling to believe or are feeling depressed, His shining smile is still cascading over you to remind you Whose you are and all you have in Him. Holy Spirit was poured out for you from His crushing to lift you up, revive you in your time of need, illumine your darkness and relight your lamp! 

“I smiled on them when they had no confidence, and their depression did not cast down the light of my countenance.” Job‬ ‭29:24‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

Beloved, He’s aware of how the enemy has worked overtime to keep you in confusion, condemnation, doubt, pain and oppression in this last season. Jesus knows how you’ve held-on when you’ve been hard-pressed and at the end of your rope. And He has seen what you’ve suffered and what was stolen in your personal valley of the shadow of death. He knows because He suffered beyond comprehension in total darkness on the cross so you can live in His Shalom.

That’s why this year, as you surrender it all to the Lord in simple trust, His Love-Light is going to flood into those areas of wrong believing, bringing deep healing to your wounded soul and weary heart. His rays of redemption are going to release a radical supply of refreshment, restoration and divine reversals. Whether it be a relationship, marriage, financial or health issue, His promise is, you will recover all in His rest.

“Those who look to Him for help will be radiant with joy; no shadow of shame will darken their faces.” Psalms‬ ‭34:5‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Remember, you can’t push back the darkness in your life with your own strength. You can’t pull yourself out of your pit or possess all Father has for you by doing more or trying harder to please Him. It is by His grace alone; relying wholly on His undeserved, unmerited goodness and faithfulness. When you let go and invite Jesus to shine His Life-Light on your struggle, you will see the supernatural salvation of the Lord.

“Every gift God freely gives us is good and perfect, streaming down from the Father of lights, who shines from the heavens with no hidden shadow or darkness and is never subject to change.” James (Jacob)‬ ‭1:17‬ ‭TPT‬‬

Chosen one, you are born from above; a child of the Light and Day (1 Thessalonians 5:5)! You may endure through a night season, but you are always seated in His radiant realm of power, perfection and pleasure. You are forever positioned in His presence and provision.  It’s your awareness of this reality that will cause your experience of it to be made manifest. 

You are a Light-bearer and Light-bringer. The darkness is afraid of YOU because the resurrected Christ – Defeater of death –  dwells in you! No circumstance and nothing you go through can keep you from the hope and future He has for you. His Light is continually sown as seed for you – His righteous one – causing your path to shine brighter and brighter unto the perfect day (Psalm 97:11, Proverbs 4:18). 

As the Lord calls you out of the obscurity of 2022 and into His Spirit-saturated Sonshine of 2023, declare with me you’ll be walking in a greater measure of Heaven’s Floodlight:

Daddy God, today I decree and declare You are enlarging my territory by Your Spirit. I receive now increased Revelation-Light in the knowledge of You, in the face of Jesus for deeper intimacy and trust…as my life is only illuminated by the unveiling of Jesus through Your Word. I speak that in all the places I was bombarded and bound in 2022, Your Burning Love will incinerate the lies, bringing the greatest deliverance, healing and freedom in 2023. I decree, as it was for the Israelites in Egypt, that while the world is living in darkness around me, my family possesses your supernatural divine Light in our hearts and home. I say ‘Yes and Amen’ to a greater anointing and impartation of Holy Spirit that will cause me to effortlessly arise and shine with Your glory, drawing many to Your peace and presence, setting them free from their own prisons. And I choose to agree with Your Word that when trouble arises, I am surrounded by the atmosphere of Heaven where Your ministering angels keep me and my family in their charge, actively moving on our behalf to surround us with safety and security. I declare I am saturated with You, I am Your Light to the world around me and I am someone’s miracle waiting to happen. In Jesus’s matchless name. Amen!

“For God, who said, “Let there be light in the darkness,” has made this light shine in our hearts so we could know the glory of God that is seen in the face of Jesus Christ.” 2 Corinthians‬ ‭4:6‬ ‭NLT‬‬
