Yesterday evening (September 25, 2022) began Rosh Hashanah 5783. It is the Jewish New Year; literally “head of the year.” Also known as The Feast of Trumpets, the blowing of the shofar calls believers in Yeshua Messiah to come back to the cross and into our Father’s arms!
Every Jewish holiday is the Lord’s appointed time and is also significant for Christians as it points to Jesus, the fulfillment of His finished work, His rapture and return!
Rosh Hashanah originates from Leviticus 23: 23-25, “Give the following instructions to the people of Israel. On the first day of the appointed month in early autumn, you are to observe a day of complete REST. It will be an official day for holy assembly, a day commemorated with loud blasts of a trumpet” (NLT).
Today, Jesus IS our complete REST!
At the exact time of our Savior’s crucifixion, the Jewish priest was sacrificing an animal in the Temple. The moment the sacrifice was complete, the shofar was blown. The moment our lifetime of sin and curses were purged in the body of Jesus, our spotless Ram trumpeted, “Finished!”
Yet the Lord continues to use His appointed times and seasons for His perfect plans and purposes here and now. He is always doing a new thing on the earth and in your life and mine. When I was studying this Jewish new year 5783, Holy Spirit gave me a word from the Hebrew letters that correspond with the number 83.
Eighty is the value of the Hebrew letter “pe” and 3 is the value of the third Hebrew letter “gimel.” The letter “pe” is also a picture of the mouth. The “gimel” is a foot.
A few years ago, there was a lot of attention placed on the Jewish new year 5780 as being the “decade of the mouth” (pe=80’s); a time to speak the word with your mouth and see it manifest. But this year, the Lord really highlighted to me the number three, which is the letter “gimel” representing the foot.
In the Bible, every detail -being God-breathed- is significant. The Hebrew alphabet, reading from right to left, shows the “gimel” or foot walking away from the previous letter and walking towards the 4th letter which is the “dalet;” a picture of a door.
In this new season, the Lord is saying “You may feel as though you have been roaming in the wilderness, but you are not going nowhere. Keep walking with Me in close communion and trust as I cause your valley of Achor to become a door of hope.”
“There I will give her her vineyards and make the Valley of Achor [troubling] to be for her a door of hope and expectation. And she shall sing there and respond as in the days of her youth and as at the time when she came up out of the land of Egypt.” Hosea 2:15 AMPC
It is in the place the enemy has been disturbing you the most that Jesus (being the Door and your Hope), offers Himself to you as the fresh grace you need.
“So Jesus said again, “I assure you and most solemnly say to you, I am the Door for the sheep [leading to life].” John 10:7 AMP
“For You are my hope; O Lord God, You are my trust and the source of my confidence from my youth.” Psalms 71:5 AMP
Whatever has been devoured in your life, be it peace of mind, health, relationships, finances or even time, is not from God. But Jesus came to restore that which He did not take away (Psalm 69:4). He Himself is the reversal of every curse and the promise of every blessing He paid for with His blood.
The valley you’ve been walking through may seem desolate and dark, but because you live and move and have your very bring IN the Promised Land (Jesus), He makes it a place that only the two of you can share.
He enlarges you in His love there and strips you of wrong believing there. He woo’s you there and draws you closer there. Then, through your simple trust, He breaks open the barrenness with His beauty and turns your tears into tide-pools of new life (Psalm 84:6).
Ultimately, as we enter into 5783, the Lord is inviting you into a new place of freedom in Him. He is dismantling your hope deferred and releasing His revelation light so you can see all that’s yours and all He’s getting ready to manifest.
By faith, just put one foot in front of the other. Surrender your life and heart afresh to His Spirit. Be conscious of His presence, Seek Him in His Word, find rest in His leading and trumpet your praise. For you are getting ready to walk into a new realm of relief and refreshing, health and healing, protection and prosperity…even supernatural changes and moves!
Beloved, you are never going backward. And you are not going in circles. You are going from glory to glory!
“But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.” 2 Corinthians 3:18 NKJV
Resting In His Love,

Jesus has been pursuing you relentlessly all your life. If you’ve never received Jesus Christ as your forgiveness, your Lord and your Savior, you can pray this simple prayer from your heart and become born again, a brand new creation and child of Daddy God, your loving Father:
“Heavenly Father, Thank you for sending your Son for me. I believe He came to earth to be born in the flesh to die my death on the cross. I believe His blood washed my sins away and completely cleansed me. I believe He redeemed me from every curse by becoming my curse and was raised from the dead because I was declared justified and righteous. Jesus, come into my heart and be my Lord and Savior. I am now fully forgiven! I am a child of God, blessed, favored and incomprehensibly loved. In Jesus Name. Amen!”
