On the night of His betrayal and just hours before His Passion began in the garden, Jesus gathered close with His friends and shared the Passover Seder, pointing to Himself.
That was when He gave them one of the greatest tangible revelations of His suffering for their healing and His bloodshed for their freedom.
He took the bread, gave thanks, broke it then gave it to them instructing, “TAKE, EAT; this is My body. Likewise, He did the same with the cup and told them to DRINK of His New Covenant of Grace!
“Do this,” He said, “in remembrance of ME” (Luke 22:19).
Communion is one of the most prevailing weapons given to the body of Christ. It is a palpable gift He offers and you receive by faith, remembering that everything He accomplished for your health, wholeness and forgiveness is finished, and already yours.
Jesus, the Bread of Life, was torn to shreds, marred beyond recognition in His suffering for one reason: your healing and completeness. He bore every sickness, every pain, every symptom and every curse on His body so you could receive His victory in yours.
When you partake of the bread, you are thanking Him that “by His stripes you are already healed” (Isaiah 53:5). You are remembering HIM, not self. You are seeing HIS body on the cross with your condition, so you can experience your body without it.
You are seeing Him taking your place so you can take His resurrection life, even renewal of youth.
When you take the cup, you are not looking to yourself; your sins, shortcomings and shame. Those are dead and gone. You are remembering HIM!
You are remembering that He Himself shed His blood, His liquid love, to wash you clean, make you His and make you the righteousness of God in Christ while celebrating His unmerited favor and endless, unearned blessings.
There is manifest power in partaking of the elements in intimacy with Him. And yes, you can partake anytime, anywhere. This is your medicine, your vitamin, your supplement…all because Jesus was your substitute!
“Whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you are retelling the story, proclaiming our Lord’s death until He comes.”1 Corin 11:26 TPT
Resting in His Love,
