Freshly Sacrificed

Beloved, your Father wants you to believe without a doubt that you have been completely cleansed and made flawless in His sight by the life-giving blood of His Son!

Because we are living in a time when there’s so much emphasis in the church on “doing for God,” many are more focused on their performance or shortcomings rather than on Jesus’s perfect sacrifice!

The Word of God says, “the life of the flesh is in the blood” and “without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness” (Leviticus 17:11, Hebrews 9:22).

During the old covenant law-based system of attaining forgiveness, animal sacrifices were made, but they only worked for a year. Their blood would dry and die. That would leave God’s people conscious of self and sins continually.

But the blood of the One who was slain before the creation of the world, is forever alive with resurrection purifying power as if He was just crucified for you this very moment. His once-for-all AND for all-time offering has given you undisrupted access to His peace and grace.

No matter how you feel you have failed, faltered or forgotten, He wants you to remember there is no distance between you and Him. In Hebrews 10:20-22, the Word says Jesus’s body was torn open to let you in through a “NEW and living way” with a clear conscience free from guilt!

That word “new” in verse 20 is prosphatos in the Greek, and it means “freshly killed or recently slain.” It’s as if Holy Spirit wants us to be continually cognizant of Jesus’s suffering and victory as if it were happening in real time.

See His marred flesh carrying your sins, sicknesses, shame and sorrrows. See His precious blood, like an eternal washing machine, keeping you white and stainless without disruption.

Chosen one, the battle is in the mind. That’s where the enemy wants to flood you with accusations, doubts and lies. But your heart has been “sprinkled from this evil conscience” (verse 22). That’s why the Lord wants you mindful of His finished work and fierce love for you; not zeroed in on your works or the “you” you feel is unlovable.

Remember the beautifully broken woman in Luke 7 who knelt at the feet of Jesus? She covered His toes with her tears and kisses then wiped them dry with her hair just before anointing them with her costly perfume.

That act of worship was not a religious duty. It came from a healed heart that believed ALL her sins were forgiven. It was an effortless overflow that came from a soul who undeservedly received His grace and trusted in His unconditional love…

Unlike the sin-conscious pharisee who was more aware of the mistakes of another because he failed to believe in and receive the forgiveness of his own sins. For those who, by faith, know they are forgiven much end up loving much. But those who believe they have not been forgiven ALL will not show much love at all (verse 47).

So today do not be conscious of self. That old nature was crucified with Christ and is dead. Jesus, who is FRESHLY SACRIFICED, is your identity and your life.

Be honest and real with Him about how you’re feeling. But choose to fix your eyes on His righteousness given to you as a gift and live like you are His favorite. All the rest will be added.

“But Jesus said to the woman, Your faith has saved you; go (enter) into peace [in freedom from all the distresses that are experienced as the result of sin].” ‭‭Luke‬ ‭7‬:‭50‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

Resting In His Love,

***************

Jesus has been pursuing you relentlessly all your life. If you’ve never received Jesus Christ as your forgiveness, your Lord and your Savior, you can pray this simple prayer from your heart and become born again, a brand new creation and child of Daddy God, your loving Father:

“Heavenly Father, Thank You for sending your Son for me. I believe He came to earth to be born in the flesh to die my death on the cross. I believe His blood washed my sins away and completely cleansed me. I believe He redeemed me from every curse by becoming my curse and was raised from the dead because I was declared justified and righteous. Jesus, come into my heart and be my Lord and Savior. I am now fully forgiven! I am a child of God, blessed, favored and incomprehensibly loved. In Jesus Name. Amen!”
