This is an introduction. For believers, Psalm 91 is our “prayer of protection” and our reality in Christ! I expound on each verse below. There is power when you meditate on this Word daily, especially in the midst of troubling times.
PSALM 91
Our 9-1-1 call!
“Living safe and secure in His Perfect Love”
“God is love…our standing in the world is identical with Christ’s. There is no room in love for fear. Well-formed love banishes fear. Since fear is crippling, a fearful life—fear of death, fear of judgment—is one not yet fully formed in love.” 1 John 4:17-18 MSG
“There is no fear in love [dread does not exist]. But perfect (complete, full-grown) love drives out fear.” 1 John 1:18 AMPC
Your Daddy does not want you tormented with fear but resting in peace of mind and heart in His divine protection. We are entering into a new Kingdom Era. This is not the end of the world, but it’s “the end of the world as we know it.” There is a season of intense shaking ahead as the Lord dismantles the Satanic Babylonian system (and their agendas) we’ve all been slaves of. However, the greatest days of experiencing His greater glory are just ahead!
Hold fast.
The best is yet to come. Jesus does not want us to look around at the destruction, but He wants us looking to Him. He wants us to abide in His presence and be secure in the secret place of His love and covering.
Guard your heart!

It’s ALL about intimacy with the Lord.
It’s not about what you can do “FOR” Him…but about your communion with Him…His caring for you and you trusting in Him. It’s what He does in and through you.
Jesus wants you to come to Him like a child. He is your hiding place. Then you will be Spirit-led.
“Do not be afraid of sudden terror, Nor of trouble from the wicked when it comes; For the Lord will be your confidence, And will keep your foot from being caught.” Proverbs 3:25-26
Psalm 91 Verse 1
“HE WHO dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty [Whose power no foe can withstand].” Psalm 91:1 AMPC
DWELLS in Hebrew = Yashab: To sit down, rest, remain, abide…take your place in Christ where you are seated in Him on the Throne at the right hand of the Father. Have a Throne attitude. Everything is already FINISHED!
(“Even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,” Ephesians 2:5-6)
Most High is “El Elyon” in Hebrew. This Name of God is “God Most High,” the overwhelming exaltedness and majesty of God; Supreme in power, possessor of heaven and earth…total supremacy!!
Almighty is “El Shaddai”…the All-Sufficient One and destroyer of our enemies; the One who blesses you with more than enough.
*El Shaddai is another picture of our Comforting Shepherd…When Jesus is your Lord, He will lead. He is all you need!
Under His shadow (secret place) we are like sheep hidden from danger where we can be held in His protection and rest. It’s a place where we can walk with Him in the cool of the garden, and be continually refreshed, preserved, loved on and fed.
This is the place of spiritual intimacy with the Lord. When you are worried, go to Him. When you are feeling fear, go to Him. When you are weary, go to Him… and let Him remind you you are safe in His embrace. He is the lifter of your head, lover of your soul, protector of His possession, Healer of His heirs.
At the same time, take action by praying powerful prayers! Decree the Word! Come against the darkness, don’t run away and hide in fear from it.
This is a clashing of two kingdoms. The King of kings’s Kingdom is within you and has already won.
We have His authority and our words carry weight! – In The Name of JESUS!!!
“In the secret place of Your presence You hide them from the plots of men; You keep them secretly in Your pavilion from the strife of tongues (accusations and lies)” Psalm 31:20 AMPC
PSALM 91 VERSE 2
“I will say of the Lord, He is my Refuge and my Fortress, my God; on Him I lean and rely, and in Him I [confidently] trust!” Psalm 91:2 AMPC

What are you SAYING?
“Faith comes by hearing and hearing the Word of Christ” (Romans 10:17).
Jesus said, “…he will have whatever he says” (Mark 11:22-24).
We believe therefore we speak…
“Yet we have the same spirit of faith as he had who wrote, I have believed, and therefore have I spoken. We too believe, and therefore we speak” 2 Corinthians 4:13 AMPC
When we speak and meditate on the Word, which is living and active, it births faith within us causing fear to flee!
Make it personal. He is YOURS!
Say: “Lord Jesus, You alone are MY Refuge”…
*Refuge is maḥăsê in Hebrew – a shelter from storms and danger. (Like the Israelis bunkers underground, safe from the “war” outside).
“You alone Lord are MY Fortress”…
*Fortress – a castle or stronghold …a defense from large scale attacks!
Lean on Jesus and His unrelenting love. Release the weight of your worry and trust Him, putting all your confidence in His goodness and protection…not the news, not man, not your finances, not your intelligence, not your self-efforts – But Jesus only! For then you will find rest for your soul.
PSALM 91 VERSE 3
“Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler And from the perilous pestilence.” Psalms 91:3 NKJV
Surely, not maybe, but SURELY …this follows verse 2 when you say of the Lord that all your trust is in Him!

Snare -a bird trap, of CALAMITIES
Fowler – trapper, bait-layer
Perilous – Deadly (noisome) – desire of the enemy, CALAMITY!
Pestilence – plague, any deadly curse

The devil is always lying in wait, seeking “whom he may devour” (1 Peter 5:8). Not everyone is “devourable.” The verse just before this says to cast ALL your cares upon Him because He cares for you. When you release ALL your anxieties and concerns onto Jesus and enter into His Rest, you will be untouchable.
Yet, even if the enemy traps you in sickness, the Word of God declares, “when the righteous cry out, the Lord hears, and He delivers them out of ALL their troubles” (Psalm 34:17).
Jesus is Jehovah Rapha, the Lord your Healer, because “SURELY He Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses” (Isaiah 53:4, Matt. 8:17) in His suffering and on the cross.
Once more, the evil elites have diabolical plans to unleash a deadly pestilence in this land to try to stop God’s anointed D*T from taking his rightful position with the destiny of restoring the Republic and demolishing the deep state.
The Lord has already said His TRUMPet will not be touched. He has said His GOLDen Age and Glory Days are here. So DO NOT FEAR. Every curse will be reversed and all His plans for this nation and your future will prevail!
But prepare yourself by feeding on His Word believing Jesus is the Lion of the tribe of Judah and will stop at nothing to protect and prosper His own! Remember where you are seated!

PSALM 91 VERSE 4
“He shall cover you with His feathers, And under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler.” Psalm 91:4
To “cover you” means to hedge or fence you in; to overshadow you. Picture being overlaid by and wrapped up in His outstretched arms like a baby bird would be covered and hidden by its mother’s wings. There it would be kept warm and comforted, out of the reach of those who seek to harm it.
Jesus has 4 faces in the book of Revelation. One is the face of an Eagle. Each gospel represents a face. The gospel of John represents the Eagle “face” of Jesus. It reveals Jesus in His glory; the Majestic One who left His throne to enter into humanity to raise us up into His realm through His resurrection!
The WINGS and FEATHERS are also a picture of the two cherubim that are spread over the Mercy Seat of the Ark of the Covenant (where 3 items representing man’s rebellion and rejection of God’s provision were kept). The Cherubim are guardians of God’s righteousness.
In the Old Testament in the Holy of Holies (the most Holy Place) inside the Tabernacle, the Presence of God dwelt above the Mercy Seat between the Cherubim. The blood of the sacrificed animal was sprinkled on the Mercy Seat. It’s a beautiful picture of the cross and the blood of Jesus that cleansed us. It is Father God who sees the blood, not our sin! Because He made us the righteousness of God in Christ, He sees His favor surrounding us! We are forever in His presence!
Jesus Himself IS Truth. It is trusting and resting in His faithfulness and finished work (not ours) that shields us from the fiery darts of the evil one.
Focus on just being His. You are covered by Love from above!
PSALM 91 VERSES 5 & 6
“You shall not be afraid of the terror of the night, nor of the arrow (the evil plots and slanders of the wicked) that flies by day, Nor of the pestilence that stalks in darkness, nor of the destruction and sudden death that surprise and lay waste at noonday.” Psalm 91:5-6 AMPC
Fearless living!…If you are feeling fear, make sure you stop what you’re doing, be still and let yourself be loved by Daddy God. Talk to Him about it and ask Holy Spirit to replace wrong believing with His Truth.
I have been writing about a great shaking coming for a short season. The Lord is exposing and demolishing a longtime, deep-rooted evil world empire (that has held us as slaves and harmed the children) AS He ushers in His new Kingdom Era and days of greater glory!
Stay focused on Jesus, not what’s happening around you. Remember His perfect love is what casts out fear (because fear has to do with wrong believing). If you are believing the Lord is placing demands on you, analyzing your every thought or behavior… or is disappointed in you, those feelings are from the devil. Your Father sees you as He sees Jesus. You have PEACE with Him and His blessings are on your head!
When you rest in His love and grace, you have 24-hour, round-the-clock protection (both day and night) regardless of what you are witnessing around you! No matter the demonic attacks released by night or disasters that strike during the day, YOU SHALL NOT BE AFRAID!
There will be earthquakes, volcanoes, fires, plandemics and attempts of the enemy to destroy this nation. Jesus said “you will hear of wars and rumors of wars but see that you are NOT TROUBLED!” (Matthew 24:6-8)
Only the Lord knows what microorganisms, viruses, diseases and yes, even created bio-weapon sicknesses lurk in the darkness. We cannot protect ourselves completely, but HE can…from ALL things. Yes, this includes Cov*d, Birrd Flu, other new “flu strains,” and any deadly disease.
The word disease is actually DIS-ease. When you are not at ease trusting in your Savior, stress will open the door to sickness. But when you are at peace knowing you are forgiven, made whole, celebrated and the apple of His eye, you will allow your body to stay well in all circumstances.
Remember, you are abiding in the Secret Place. You already have the victory. You are His anointed and have authority in Jesus’s Name. Pray against these attacks. The prayers of a righteous person are powerful and effective (James 5:16)!
PSALM 91 VERSES 7 & 8
“A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand, but it shall not come near you. Only a spectator shall you be [yourself inaccessible in the secret place of the Most High] as you witness the reward of the wicked.” Psalm 91:7-8 AMPC

In the Amplified Classic Version you’re reminded that you are inaccessible to these dangers because you are abiding in the secret place of the Most High. Only then, it will not come near you.
Verses 7 and 8 follow the previous two verses referencing destruction and pestilence. Do you believe even if fires are raging around you and your world looks like a battlefield, the Lord will supernaturally shield and protect you, putting you in the right place at the right time?
Do you believe even if a plague was taking numerous lives on every side, your loving Father will keep you preserved, untouched and supernaturally well?
This is where the rubber meets the road. The Word of God is your truth despite what you see in the natural. And it is made manifest unto you through your intimacy with Jesus.
In Matthew chapter 8, when Jesus touched the leper, He didn’t get leprosy. The leper, by one gentle touch of his Savior, was cleansed and made whole. This same Jesus lives in you and you in Him!
As the enemy seeks to release another deadly infirmity, meditate on this Word and envision every germ and diseased-microbe dying the moment it gets near you because the resurrected Christ Jesus (who overcame every form of death) lives in you (see Romans 8:11).
John G.Lake, a faith-filled man living during the bubonic plague experienced this reality. He lived by his true identity in Christ, knowing the law of the Spirit of life was at work in him. Even while burying those who died from the plague, he was untouched by it.

Finally, be certain that the ones working in wickedness; those partnered with Satan, devising their devilish plans in darkness and refusing to repent, will face the justice and judgment of God.
Vengeance belongs to the Lord (Deuteronomy 32:35). But His Word declares that we will see their reward. The death they sought to unleash on the innocent, they themselves will reap. The gallows they built for the righteous, will be used for their own hanging.
PSALM 91 VERSES 9 & 10
“Because you have made the Lord your refuge, and the Most High your dwelling place, There shall no evil befall you, nor any plague or calamity come near your tent.” Psalm 91:9-10 AMPC
BECAUSE- key word. Once again, we are being reminded of our true identity and faith in Christ.
It is BECAUSE you are taking your place in Christ, abiding in Him and His finished work…and relying completely on Him as your refuge (Go back to Psalm 91 Verse 1)!
It is BECAUSE you BELIEVE you were raised with Jesus in His resurrection, made alive in Him, accepted in Him, favored in Him and protected in Him…no bad will befall you. For you are truly seated in the Source of All Life, at Father’s right hand, far above all problems, principalities and powers of darkness (Ephesians 1:21)!
Remember I shared from verse 3, that He will deliver you from enemy traps, deadly pestilence and CALMITIES?…
Well, it is repeated here. BECAUSE you have made Him your total trust…
Evil will not encounter you nor will any plague or calamity come near your tent.
“Tent” in Hebrew means “dwelling, home or habitation.”You can claim this promise as both your spiritual and physical reality.
Jesus dwells or tabernacles over you. You are clothed in Christ. He is your Real Home. But you also have a physical home you live in here on Earth. Every night, I plead the blood of Jesus over our family, home, animals and property. And I speak, “no evil will befall my family nor shall any deadly sickness or harm come near us, this house or this property, in Jesus’s Mighty Name!”
You too have the authority in Jesus’s Name to declare this assurance over your life and loved ones!
PSALM 91:11-12
“For He shall give His angels charge over you, To keep you in all your ways. In their hands they shall bear you up, Lest you dash your foot against a stone.” Psalm 91:11-12
Angels are real. Angels are created beings, spirit messengers, fashioned by the God of angel armies! They were created for you!…for all believers!
Each of us have a unique personal angel assigned to us at conception. Your angel is so glad you are his/hers to watch over and care for.
However, in verse 11, it says “angels,” plural. Not just one but many…”you have come to Mount Zion (the mountain of Grace; the presence of God through Jesus)…to an innumerable company of angels” (Hebrews 12:22).
These angelic beings are mighty and strong enough to block traffic, keep you from accidents and defend you from demonic attacks.
Yet, they are tender enough to “bear you up in their hands;” to keep you from falling from grace or being harmed if misled by the enemy.
There are endless orders, categories and ranks of these powerful warriors of Heaven, including worship angels, protection angels, warring angels and government angels…just to name some. Gabriel and Michael are the highest ranking.
Angels also heed the Word of God spoken out of our mouth (Psalm 103:20). They actually respond when you speak the Word or pray for them to give aid to you or someone you love.
They are waiting for us to “activate” them (Hebrews 1:14). Angels are NOT EVER to be worshipped but were created by God for our benefit and to overthrow the powers of darkness!

PSALM 91 VERSE 13
“You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra, The young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot.” Psalm 91:13
In this verse, Holy Spirit is speaking of your authority in Christ. Because Jesus destroyed the works of the devil in His death, burial and resurrection, rendering him powerless, you now have the authority to enforce it!
In the original Hebrew of this verse, lions, snakes AND dragons are mentioned. They are the three great symbols of satanic power.
But Jesus said in Luke 10:19, “Now you understand that I have imparted to you My authority to trample over his (satan’s) kingdom. You will trample upon every demon before you and overcome every power satan possesses. Absolutely nothing will harm you as you walk in this authority.” (TPT).
1 Peter 5:8 tells us the devil roams around LIKE a lion seeking whom he may devour. He can’t just devour anyone. If you are ABIDING in your true identity as the beloved in Christ, you will be “undevourable!”
The enemy tries to impersonate a lion by making God seem like He’s angry toward believers. The accuser constantly condemns the Lord’s elect making them fearful.
But Jesus, the true Lion of the tribe of Judah roars with protection and passionate love over His own as He reminds them they are righteous and royal in Him!
Because of Jesus’s victory over sin and death, He swears He would never be angry with you again! (Isaiah 54:9-10). His New Covenant declares “You are forever forgiven, completely accepted and highly favored!”
When the devil comes to steal, kill and destroy in your life, rise up and render him powerless! The Bible says, “where the word of a king is there is power” (Ecc. 84).
As a righteous king/priest in Christ (Rev. 1:6), decree the ‘King of kings’ promises of Life Abundant over you and your situation. Then enter into REST. And “the God of Peace will soon crush satan under your feet!” (Romans 16:20).
PSALM 91 VERSE 14
“Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore will I deliver him; I will set him on high, because he knows and understands My name [has a personal knowledge of My mercy, love, and kindness–trusts and relies on Me, knowing I will never forsake him, no, never].” Psalm 91:14 AMPC
Old Covenant preachers love to preach, “You gotta love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind and soul!” But do they? Do any of us? In and of ourselves, we cannot.
Of course, once you are saved, you come to love the Lord. But the love we have for Him can only come first from the Source of all Love. Our devotion and faithfulness waiver. But His faithfulness will never fail you! We love Him BECAUSE He first loved us! (1 John 4:10).
Under the Old Covenant, it’s about you and what you must do for God. But under the New Covenant, it’s all about what God has done and what He will do for you. (Hebrews 10:16-17).
HE sent His Son! HE gave up His all! HE pursued us! Not the other way around. Our love for Him is a response to His desire for us. It is our consent to be rescued, forgiven and cared for.
In verse 14, the phrase “he has set his love,” is one word in Hebrew (ḥāšaq). One of the definitions of this word is “to be attached to.” It’s all about intimacy with Jesus. Religion will always keep you from experiencing ‘oneness’ with your Father. But Jesus is the end of religion!
Yes, FATHER (Abba, Daddy God) is the name Jesus came to reveal to you. Your covenant-keeping God has many names. But above them all, Holy Spirit wants you to know Him as your loving Papa! He wants you to have a personal knowledge of His Grace; His unearned goodness, unmerited favor and undeserved kindness.
So let go of striving and let yourself be utterly and unconditionally loved by Him without reservation, agenda or demand. Be conscious of your innocence in Christ and trust your Dad’s desire to freely deliver, heal and bless you!
For “then you will find your joy in the Lord, and He will cause you to ride in triumph on the heights of the land and to feast on your inheritance,” purchased for you by the blood of Jesus! (Isaiah 58:14).
PSALM 91 VERSE 15
“He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him.” Psalms 91:15 NKJV
First, you must see your need for Jesus. He responds to you inquiring and requiring Him. He will not force anything on you or interfere with your free will. He is always in pursuit of you, but waits for you to accept His invitation to intervene with His Grace.
When Jesus was asleep in the boat on the Sea of Galilee during a squall, it was not the wind and waves that woke Him. It was the cry of His disciples. He longs for you to cry out to Him when you’re in distress, believing He is there to still your storm with His love. (Mark 4:35-41).
He will be your ever present help IN THE MIDDLE of adversity (Psalm 46:10). Jesus said in this world we will have trials and tribulations; frustrations and difficulties. But He also assures us that He has already overcome the world and deprived it of power to harm us (remember you are seated in the secret place where He Himself is your peace). (See Psalm 46:10, John 16:33)
Once again, His Word declares with certainty that He WILL deliver you from the fire of affliction. Not only will you be unharmed in the midst of the flames but He will also bring you out into a new place of freedom in Him!
Through the purification process, He promises to bestow upon you ‘double honor for your shame and confusion” (Isaiah 61:7). “Honor” in Hebrew is the beautiful word “kāḇaḏ.” It means to be “weighty” with His glory. It also denotes being filled with His riches.
“[But what of that?] For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth being compared with the glory that is about to be revealed to us and in us and for us and conferred on us!” Romans 8:18 AMPC
The best is yet to come!
PSALM 91 VERSE 16
“With long life I will satisfy him, and show him My salvation.” Psalms 91:16 NKJV
Do you believe the Lord wants you to live long? Do you believe His report? (Isaiah 53:1).
Jesus died young so we could live full, extended lives in His grace and resurrection power. He redeemed us from every curse of the law by becoming our curse (Galatians 3:13).
All forms of death (sickness, lack, dying before your time, etc) are an enemy of God. But Jesus absorbed every single one in His own body on the cross where they were judged and defeated!
The Hebrew word for “long” is ōreḵ, and means “physical length of time.” Its root word means “to be long, or to be prolonged!”
If you want to live a long satisfying life, tell your Father! It is your blood-bought inheritance! He lives to increase life!
Even in the Old Testament, under the old covenant, The Lord healed and extended King Hezekiah‘s life, 15 years, when he prayed for it! How much more for us under the new covenant?!
The world will tell you to expect certain problems as you get older. The world will tell you what your life expectancy is. But we are not of this world.
Jesus is the Beginning and the End. He has the first and final say-so in your life, not the doctors, not man. The Word of God is your Truth!
Don’t lay hold of the devil’s lies. Speak out this promise of long life! Declare that He “renews your youth like the Eagle’s!” The power of life and death is in your tongue! (See Psalm 103:5, Proverbs 18:21).
In the last part of this verse the Lord promises to continually show you His Salvation. Salvation is not a thing. Salvation is a Person.
The Hebrew word for “Salvation” is Yeshua, the name of Jesus! All the days of your life, Holy Spirit wants to reveal more and more of Jesus to you! For when you see Jesus, you see the Father’s heart!
Yeshua by its rich definition includes “deliverance, liberation, welfare, prosperity and victory!” He is the Source of all Life, the Giver of Life, the Fountain of Life, the Resurrection and the Life!
In the days, weeks and months ahead while the Lord God Almighty puts an end to an evil empire, do not fear what you see around you.
Instead, trust He is restoring to you the years the devil has devoured (Joel 2:25). And expect life and life abundant as His new Kingdom Era ushers in His presence, miracles and glory like never before!

Jesus has been pursuing you relentlessly all your life. If you’ve never received Jesus Christ as your forgiveness, your Lord and your Savior, you can pray this simple prayer from your heart and become born again, a brand new creation and child of Daddy God, your loving Father:
