Ring a ling, hear the King….
Soon it will be a New Day!
Each year, the Lord gives me a Word and a symbol. The bell has been my symbol from the Lord since the first day of 2024.
They have been ringing everywhere this month (December). From the newly-restored Cathedral of Notre Dame, to the opening of the NYSE (signaling the start of a new financial system), to Christmas carols of old.
They’ve been sounding in the spirit realm as the Lord speaks: “There is a ringing in of a New Era. The old has gone, the new has come! A time never before known on the Earth. Let every heart prepare Him room.”
The first mention of a bell in scripture is in Exodus chapter 28. The Lord gave specific instructions as to how the high priest’s robe was to be assembled. On the hem of the robe made for the ephod (which held the breast plate), GOLDen bells and pomegranates were woven all the way around.
The high priest would wear it so the sound would be heard when he entered the Holy of Holies (the most sacred place in the Tabernacle/Temple where the presence of God dwelt above the Mercy Seat of the Ark of the Covenant) once a year on the Day of Atonement. This is when the high priest would make a temporary atonement for the sins of God‘s people with the blood of an animal. If the bells stopped jingling, it was because the offering was not accepted and the high priest was struck dead (Leviticus 16).
Now the Old Testament high priest is a picture or type of our Lord Jesus Christ, our Heavenly High Priest. And because He offered Himself once for all as the spotless sacrifice for our sins, His offering was perfectly accepted by the Father.
The ringing of the bells today is a New Covenant reminder announcing “Because of the blood of the Lamb, your sins have been forgiven!” And because the Father is fully satisfied with His Son’s sacrifice, He is fully satisfied with you!
“So then, since we have a great High Priest who has entered heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to what we believe. 15 This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin. 16 So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.”
Hebrews 4:14-16 NLT
The bells reverberate this glorious gospel; the good news of Christmas! The babe wrapped in grave cloths of linen, lying in an animal feeding trough, mirroring His tomb… all pointing to the finished work of His cross. He was the only baby intentionally born to die so that you and I could live eternally in His presence.
In church history, bells were rung for several reasons. They were a call to come together for prayer and worship. They were also an announcement of special occasions, celebrations and events (even deaths) as well as to comfort community during wartime or disasters. Ultimately, however, they ring out a frequency of hope!
Recently, the Lord led me to watch the faith-based Christmas movie “I Heard The Bells.” It is based on the true story of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow (America’s favorite poet and mine) and how he came to write the poem “I Heard The Bells On Christmas Day” which later became the beloved carol.
Through his own personal experience with tragedy and despair, when all hope seemed lost, the belfries rung, and the one who said he would never write again penned the words proclaiming God‘s prevailing power and peace.
Then there’s the Liberty Bell; wrought to trumpet freedom in the land! Ordered with the Leviticus 25:10 inscription to forever “Proclaim Liberty Throughout All the Land Unto All the Inhabitants thereof.” Her roots go back to William Penn‘s Charter of Privileges and even further to 1620 when the pilgrims dedicated their discovery to God and for His glory in the Mayflower Compact.
While it hasn’t been tolled since 1846 when it got its fracture being rung in honor of Washington’s Birthday, she will once again proudly peal in honor of her Nation’s rebirth and resurrected Republic. So this sacred season, choose to hear the bells…
They are heralding good tidings of great joy!
They are chiming, “Great change is coming!”
They are announcing death to the deep state slave system.
They are proclaiming a jubilee; debts forgiven, double restoration and days of Heaven on earth at hand!
They are sounding the alarm for the great awakening and the GOLDen Age.
But during the tumultuous transition into this new Kingdom Era, remember the Lord is never late, but always on TIME. For when it looks like all is lost, the Lord God Almighty will SUDDENLY step in. Striking the bells, He will shred America’s burial shroud, shatter the darkness and call forth the One He loves back to life (John 11:38-44).
As the waters cover the sea, His Glory will be seen! The fear of the Lord will be felt, and a joyous noise will be heard!
Until then, when it seems there is no “peace on earth,” remember Jesus Himself is your Peace. Then hold onto the words of our favorite poet of Hope:
Then pealed the bells more loud and deep:
“God is not dead, nor doth He sleep;
The wrong shall fail, the right prevail,
With peace on earth, good will to men.”
Till, ringing singing, on its way,
The world revolved from night to day,
A voice, a chime, a chant sublime,
Of peace on earth, good will to men!
(Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, 1864)
The best is yet to come!
Merry Christmas!
Resting in His Love,
Annalee Reyes

Jesus has been pursuing you relentlessly all your life. If you’ve never received Jesus Christ as your forgiveness, your Lord and your Savior, you can pray this simple prayer from your heart and become born again, a brand new creation and child of Daddy God, your loving Father:
“Heavenly Father, Thank you for sending your Son for me. I believe He came to earth to be born in the flesh to die my death on the cross. I believe His blood washed my sins away and completely cleansed me. I believe He redeemed me from every curse by becoming my curse and was raised from the dead because I was declared justified and righteous. Jesus, come into my heart and be my Lord and Savior. I am now fully forgiven! I am a child of God, blessed, favored and incomprehensibly loved. In Jesus Name. Amen!”
