When it looks like everything around you is falling apart, when it seems as though death has the upper hand or you “feel” certain all is lost, what will you choose to see by faith?
When there’s shaking on all sides, chaos clambering for your attention and enemies in pursuit, what will you perceive and believe?
Recently, I heard the Lord speak these words to me: “The Valley of Vision.”
Proverbs 29:18 says: “Where there is no VISION [no redemptive revelation of God], the people perish…” (AMPC).
Vision is the Hebrew word hazon and refers to a prophetic revelation and divine communication from God. Vision is needed to see God’s goodness and to hope without a doubt that His promises are coming to pass despite what you currently see in the natural.
Today, it’s imperative to see by trusting His heart; not your flesh.
“Be Thou my vision, O Lord of my heart,” as the timeless Irish hymn declares, must be our heart’s cry today. Jesus, our Vision of Peace, must be our Portion in the days of shaking ahead.
The Valley of Vision physically refers to Jerusalem. Although a hill itself, it actually sits low compared to the hills and mountains surrounding it. Spiritually speaking, Jerusalem (as well as the New Jerusalem in Revelation 21) is a picture of us in Christ; His church and His bride!
In the Old Testament, Jerusalem was where the prophets dwelt and the Lord imparted revelation to them. For us now in Christ, it is in His Word and in His presence we receive revelation of Him and insight into what’s to come.
In Isaiah 22 (known as the Oracle of the Valley of Vision), the prophet, in anguish, sees the coming attack upon Jerusalem. The people, in party-mode, are preparing only in their own strength. Reveling in themselves, they did everything except call on the Lord God for help.
Following this waywardness was the king’s steward who failed to lead his people for the sake of self. But in verse 22, we see by the prophetic vision of his replacement, God’s solution. While this replacement is also a modern-day picture of Trump, Jesus alone is the One who bears the keys to the house of David, the treasures of His abode. He is the One who opens doors no one can shut and who shuts doors no one can open.
In the days and season ahead, when it seems as though America and the globe are being sieged with terror and tumult, and you feel your own life is under attack, you must see Jesus as the One who took your disasters upon His own body and destroyed them in His death. Now, seated on High with Him, you are graced with every spiritual blessing in the Secret Place of His love and covering.
“If people can’t see what God is doing, they stumble all over themselves; But when they attend to what He reveals, they are most blessed.” Proverbs 29:18 MSG
Ezekiel also saw this glory and restoration of the Lord in the Valley of Vision after being taken in the Spirit to the very place heaped with dry bones (see chapter 37). Where it looked, in the natural, like all was dead and gone, the Lord asks Ezekiel if the bones could come back to life. Ezekiel could have said, “No Lord, these bones are deader than a door knob.”
But instead, when the Lord told him to prophesy over those dry bones and command them to hear His Word, something began to change. When Ezekiel declared that the breath of the Lord was going to come into them and muscles and sinews and flesh would grow on them, the reverberating sound of life-being-made-new grew louder and louder… and behold, a very great army was before him!
Beloved, your Father wants you to see everything through the lens of His Son’s cross. It’s only through the finished work of Jesus, His blood that speaks FORGIVENESS and FAVOR, and His new covenant of unshakable peace that you can prophesy and proclaim His redemptive plans for your life and our nation in the midst of darkness.
“Even if the mountains were to crumble and the hills disappear, my heart of steadfast, faithful love will never leave you, and my covenant of peace with you will never be shaken,” says Yahweh, whose love and compassion will never give up on you.” Isaiah 54:10 TPT
He knows what He is doing. His plans for you and America are very very good; full of hope, LIBERTY, wholeness and prosperity. Ask your Abba, who loves you furiously and cares affectionately about every detail of your life, what vision He has for your future.
Notice it’s in the valley you have to have the vision (prophetic picture and promise). It’s in the valley, not on the mountain top, where you have to utilize your faith. The valley is the place of intimacy and communion where your complete dependence on Him brings forth new life and supernatural provision.
That’s because despite your outward circumstances, your position in Christ never changes. You are always living from victory, going from glory to glory.
The enemy, just like in the garden, wants to steal your right-believing, get you to doubt your identity and distort your image of God. If he can get you to doubt your Father’s heart of love, he can get you to become hopeless about your situation and the future. That leads to depression and despair and destroys your vision of truth.
But for every grim area in your life, even that which you deem to be of your own doing, Daddy God wants you to come to Him as His beloved child and be reminded the curse has been reversed. His resurrection power will work wonders there birthing the miraculous.
So don’t yield to fear when things seem dire. Trust His Word, claim His promises and choose to see the gold in the mud, the light in the dark, the fruit in the barrenness, and the rebuilt ruins. Write down your vision. Speak it out. Call it forth. And REST. For Jesus Himself is your Faithful Shield and Abundant Compensation.
“After these things the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision, saying, “Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your exceedingly great reward.” Genesis 15:1 NKJV
“And then God answered: “Write this. Write what you see. Write it out in big block letters so that it can be read on the run. This vision-message is a witness pointing to what’s coming…if it seems slow in coming, wait. It’s on its way. It will come right on time.”
Habakkuk 2:2-3 MSG

Jesus has been pursuing you relentlessly all your life. If you’ve never received Jesus Christ as your forgiveness, your Lord and your Savior, you can pray this simple prayer from your heart and become born again, a brand new creation and child of Daddy God, your loving Father:
“Heavenly Father, Thank you for sending your Son for me. I believe He came to earth to be born in the flesh to die my death on the cross. I believe His blood washed my sins away and completely cleansed me. I believe He redeemed me from every curse by becoming my curse and was raised from the dead because I was declared justified and righteous. Jesus, come into my heart and be my Lord and Savior. I am now fully forgiven! I am a child of God, blessed, favored and incomprehensibly loved. In Jesus Name. Amen!”
