For the last two weeks, Jesus has been speaking to my heart about many who have lost hope or feel they are in a state of hopelessness. And He wants to remind you that He Himself is your Hope.
You see, your hope must be built on nothing less than Jesus’ Blood and Righteousness.
If any portion of your hope is dependent on you, you’ll be doomed to hopelessness. But if your hope is based and dependent on the Person, Jesus; His blood that washed you clean and made you Righteous (in perfect standing with your Father; spotless, flawless and blameless in His sight), then your hope is rock solid and will never disappoint.
In both Hebrew (tiqvah) and in Greek (elpis), the Word HOPE expresses an eager and confident expectation of God‘s goodness.
If whatever it is you are waiting for, longing for or looking for, is hinged on your performance, your love for or your devotion to the Lord, you will always be dismayed and downcast.
“Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise Him again— my Savior and my God!” Psalms 42:11 NLT
But if you are sure that what you’re hoping for is completely contingent on His unconditional love and grace for you; His faithfulness and devotion to you, then you will not be disheartened or discouraged.
Above all, you will find what you are hoping for will be met in the form of experiencing His presence that longs to encounter you, give to you, restore to you, heal you and bring deeper peace and wholeness into your life.
“Our faith in Jesus transfers God’s righteousness to us and he now declares us flawless in his eyes. This means we can now enjoy true and lasting peace with God, all because of what our Lord Jesus, the Anointed One, has done for us. Our faith guarantees us permanent access into this marvelous kindness that has given us a perfect relationship with God. What incredible joy bursts forth within us as we keep on celebrating our hope of experiencing God’s glory!…And this hope is not a disappointing fantasy, because we can now experience the endless love of God cascading into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who lives in us!”Romans 5:1-2, 5 TPT
No matter what you’re going through or what you’re worried about, let the troublesome areas become doors of hope only Jesus can open. Stop trusting in self and just believe on the One Who believes perfectly for you (and as your High Priest intercedes for you). What you need and desire can never come about by striving, but only by His Spirit.
“Against all odds, when it looked hopeless, Abraham believed the promise and expected God to fulfill it. He took God at His word, and as a result he became the father of many nations…” Romans 4:18 TPT
Beloved, look to Him alone! It’s time to let the Person of Hope (Jesus) arise in your heart! It’s time to have a confident expectation of His overflowing, abundant goodness that is based on nothing less than His once-and-for-all sacrifice and finished work!
“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”
Hebrews 11:2 NKJV
“Hope deferred makes the heart sick, But when the desire comes, it is a tree of life.”
Proverbs 13:12 NKJV
