When Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River, as He rose up out of the water, the Holy Spirit came upon Him and He heard His Father’s voice say, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I AM well pleased” (Matt. 3:13).At this point in Jesus‘s life, He had not yet done one miracle. He had done nothing for His Father and He had done no ministry.
Jesus was born fully Man and fully God. Yet, leaving His throne for you, He emptied Himself of His deity to rely solely on His Father by the power of the Holy Spirit. Although He was completely sinless, He still lived in all humanness like us; understanding struggle, weakness and testing. Beloved, He’s not out of touch with our earthly reality. He understands fully what you go through and experience entirely. His suffering was your suffering so you could be healed and made whole.
That’s why it’s so important you know that when Jesus heard His Abba affirming Him, He was in a place near the mouth of the Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth (1,388 ft below sea level to be exact). Up to this point, He had lived an ordinary life and had PERFORMED NOTHING to be pleasing to His Father. His Father was pleased with Him simply because He was His beloved Son. Period.
It is the same for you and me. In His lavish love, Daddy God, by the blood of His Son, wrapped us up in His Son!
“And He chose us to be His very own, joining us to Himself even before He laid the foundation of the universe! Because of His great love, He ordained us, so that we would be seen as holy in His eyes with an unstained innocence.”
Ephesians 1:4 TPT
Child of God, you are pleasing to Him simply because you belong to Him! Jesus fulfilled all so you could be filled with His all!
That’s why at your lowest point in life, in your worst moments, your deepest hurts, your most terrible-horrible-no good-very bad days, your Father is reassuring you of His unconditional love for you; His pleasure in you and His delight over you!
Because He has made you new in His righteousness alone, every single part of you is known and loved perfectly; the good, the bad, the ugly. And even though every single aspect of your being is understood and deeply loved, when it’s all said and done, all you are is as Jesus is! As the Father loves Jesus, so He loves you! As He sees Jesus, so He sees you!
So no matter what you’re going through, how much you’ve failed, or how little you feel you’ve accomplished, run to your tender loving Father, pour it out and hear Him affirm and speak to your heart, “You are my child, chosen and marked by My love, pride of My life.” (See Luke 3:22 MSG), and expect His very best in the midst of your worst! This is Grace, received freely.
Resting In His Love,
